Norman Gould has lived in Shinfield Park since 1987 and has been a parish councillor since 2003. He was until recently the Shinfield North ward councillor for Wokingham Borough Council. He is a retired soldier who spent a significant part of his career in Arborfield, is married to a teacher and has two grwon-up children.
