Grants

Shinfield Parish Council is in a position to award grants. For more information download the grant application form or contact the Clerk.

The Parish Council acknowledges applications within 10 days of receipt.

If funding is available during the current financial year [1 April – 31 March], decisions are made within three months of receipt of application. Otherwise, applications are held and reviewed when budgets are being set for the next financial year, which is in the period January to March each year. 

Grants are not awarded retrospectively.

The Parish Council seeks to maintain a balanced provision of grants with the principles of best value being applied in considering all applications. The criteria are:

• Grants to organisations or charities serving the community as a whole take priority.
• The purpose of the grant should be in the interests of, and bring direct benefit to, the parish or its inhabitants.

The grant may be a contribution to the funds of a charitable body for the furtherance of its work in the local community.
