The clerk is also the Proper Officer of the Council and Responsible Financial Officer and the first point of contact for all services.

Jacqui Barnes has been the Clerk since 1995 and has supported the council through many changes during that time. Jacqui works part-time at the council office in School Green, Shinfield and has the assistance of one part-time Admin Assistant. Jacqui also serves on the Berkshire Accreditation Panel for Quality Council Certification. She lives in the parish, is married and has a teenage family.
