Planning - Development Control

The parish council is a statutory consultee on all planning applications considered by Wokingham District Council, the Local Planning Authority (LPA) and affecting our parish, including some in neighbouring authorities or parishes.

The parish council itself has no powers to determine applications but, as a consultee, it is able to comment on behalf of the community on all development control planning applications and it takes an active role in local enforcement issues, assisting the district council in identifying areas where planning conditions are potentially being breached.

The current list of applications to be considered at the next Planning & Transportation Committee meeting of the council can be viewed on the published agenda.

Should you wish your comments to be considered by our council when forming their views, please ensure your views are made know to your local councillor or the council clerk, prior to the next meeting of the P & T Committee - see Diary

More detailed information on Planning and Development Control can be obtained directly from the Local Planning Authority (LPA), Tel:  (0118) 9746000, ask for Development Control.

The LPA will, on request, lend out a video on home extensions.

Shinfield's district councillor serving on the district council's Development Control Committee is Cllr Norman Gould Tel: (0118) 931 1053
