FAULT REPORTING |

Street lighting|Footpaths|Highways and verges|Playgrounds|Litter |

This council is
responsible for some, but not all, of the parish’s street lighting. Some of
them are the responsibility of Wokingham Unitary Authority. We are unable to
instruct the contractors directly if a column is not ours but we are happy to
pass details to Wokingham Unitary Authority on your behalf. To report a fault to
us, please submit the following information: The location – street name and what house
name or number it is either (a) outside or (b) opposite. The fault – whether it is (a) not working
or (b) day burning Your contact
telephone – in
case we need to check the details. If a column is
damaged by a vehicle or wilfully, then it is valuable, for insurance
purposes, to have as much witness detail as possible. Direct contact with
Wokingham Unitary Authority – street light faults on tel. 0118 9746326. We have a reciprocal
arrangement – they will pass us fault details if a column happens to be ours. Generally speaking,
once a fault is formally reported to SEC, it is repaired within 5 working
days, unless of course, the repair is complex. |

FOOTPATHS Wokingham Unitary is
responsible for public footpath maintenance – faults can be reported directly
to Graham Barnwell, Rights of Way Officer, Wokingham Unitary Authority on
tel. 0118 9746333. We are happy to pass these reports to Graham on your
behalf and try to keep our own log of problems. We do however, need quite
specific details to do this and any message of this nature should be
accompanied by a contact number. |

Authority has responsibility for highway, footway (pavements), and verges and

PLAYGROUNDS The parish council has
responsibility for the following playgrounds only: Kendal Avenue Church Lane allotment
site Recreation Ground,
Spencers Wood Wokingham Unitary
Authority has responsibility for most other playgrounds in the area and can
be contacted on tel. 0118 9746258. |

LITTER The council employs 4
local litter collectors to maintain its recreation grounds and amenities.
Litter on the highway and verges is collected by Wokingham Unitary Authority
